After winning the \u201cbest professional matchmaker Award\u201d at iDate 2016 Diolli.com<\/a>\n has brought the new trend to Ukraine \u2013 matchmaking service. Before that\n it was more common to see \u201cdating agencies\u201d or \u201cmarriage agencies\u201d. The\n majority of them were brandless and faceless and worked with big \nmail-order brides dating sites. Their websites were in Russian language \nand were created mostly to attract more \u201cUkrainian brides\u201d into their \nbases. Also they were created to attract \u201cinterpreters\u201d, because someone\n has to write all those numerous letters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So are there any real changes happening at the Ukrainian dating market or did they just change the way they call their service?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately the majority of those \ndating or marriage agencies have just changed the name of their service \nand didn\u2019t actually change anything about the service itself. Same base \nof Ukrainian brides that you can find at one or several pay per letter \nmail-order brides dating sites is now on the full display on the website\n of the ex \u201cmarriage agency\u201d that now calls itself \u201cmatchmaking \nservice\u201d. So instead of paying 2 or 3 dollars to write a letter online \nthrough a big mail-order bride international dating site foreign \ngentlemen are offered to start a correspondence \u201cdirectly\u201d with the \nbride they choose from the online catalogue of the marriage agency or to\n \u201cbuy\u201d a date with her. Pretty much it is the same service that was \noffered for years by mail-order brides dating sites, but now it is \n\u201cwrapped\u201d into a new envelope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how to find a real professional matchmaker or matchmaking service in Ukraine? I will give you 5 tips.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  1. Professional matchmaker has to be certified or\/and acknowledged by \nthe industry. The easiest way is to check the website of the \nprofessional matchmaker (he or she has to have a website) and to find \ninformation about his or her certification, membership at the \nacknowledged international professional alliances, participation in \ninternational professional dating conferences and other references in \npress and media. Professional matchmaker as a dating expert for sure has\n already given dating tips for a magazine, TV or Radio program, during \nthe big conference or other event. Matchmaking service<\/a>\n can\u2019t be faceless unless it is represented by the team of dating \nexperts, but still it should be easy to find information about the team \nonline.<\/li>
  2. If matchmaking service is just a small part of the services provided\n by the company it wouldn\u2019t be good and it will be just another marriage\n agency that works with a pay per letter dating site that has decided to\n be \u201ctrendy\u201d and to add matchmaking to its list of services. I will give\n you an example. You have found a website of the dating agency and it is\n both in Russian and English. At the Russian version of the website they\n are hiring interpreters, promise free photo-shoots to the ladies, free \nregistration and correspondence guided by the professional interpreter. \nAt the English version they offer correspondence, renting apartments, \ntransfers, hiring the interpreter and personal matchmaking service. I \ndon\u2019t claim that this company is bad, but you shouldn\u2019t expect a real \nprofessional matchmaking service there. This service will be limited to \nchoosing ladies from their catalogue which you can do yourself online at\n the mail-order brides website just for the different fee. In this case \nthe male client is responsible for his own choice just as he is \nresponsible when he chooses ladies to correspond online. It is not good \nor bad, it just has nothing to do with the real professional matchmaking\n service. Professional matchmaker will never just open the catalogue for\n a male client to let him put his finger on the profiles of ladies. Just\n like a real HR manager won\u2019t send the client to choose candidates \nonline from the base of SVs. He would preselect the best candidates by \ninterviewing and researching them based on the needs and preferences of \nthe paying client.  So when you choose the service of the marriage or \ndating agency in Ukraine that offers you to start correspondence with \nsome of their female members, buy their contact details you should keep \nin mind that this has absolutely nothing to do with a professional \nmatchmaking service.<\/li>
  3. English interpreter or popular blogger is not a professional \nmatchmaker. This is the new trend at the Ukrainian dating market. \nBloggers who just yesterday blogged about cheep hostels in Lvov or how \nto have dinner for just 10$ in Kiev today claim they are \u201cdating \nexperts\u201d or \u201cprofessional matchmakers\u201d. For their potential clients it \nis important to keep in mind that they won\u2019t receive professional \nmatchmaking or dating coaching service there. Usually this 23 years old \ngirl who has created interesting videos about places of interest in \nUkraine has absolutely no clue about real professional matchmaking. She \nis not a professional psychologist, she hasn\u2019t attended any real \ntrainings or master classes about matchmaking. You can say \u201cshe is just \nnatural\u201d. Well, I doubt it you would choose a surgeon or a dentist \nwithout licence, because he is \u201cjust natural\u201d. Pretty much this \nself-proclaimed \u201cprofessional matchmaker\u201d will try to set you up on \ndates with all single women she knows and she won\u2019t pay much attention \nto such important details whether your ideas about family, relationship,\n gender roles are similar. She will play the professional matchmaker \njust like our friends and moms do. They use a single principle \u2013 you are\n single and he or she is single as well, so this makes two of you \n\u201cperfect\u201d for each other. Just yesterday my single female friend has \ntold me how her married friends have set her on a blind date with their \nfreshly divorced friend. Not only he was not over his divorce and was \nemotionally not ready to date again (he has showed her wedding photos \nwith his ex-wife), but also he was \u201ctoo traditional regarding gender \nroles\u201d. When he has found out about successful career of my friend he \ngave her a long lecture that \u201cwomen should cook borsh and take care of \nthe house instead of earning money and buying property\u201d. So why did her \nfriends set her up on a date with this guy? Don\u2019t they like her at all? \nWhy have they decided to play the professional matchmaker? For sure \ntheir reasons were noble and sincere. They wanted to make two single \nfriends happy, they wanted to \u201cspread love\u201d. But what has actually \nhappened? They had a single female friend and a single male friend and \nthe facts they both were single and of proper sex have encouraged this \nintroduction, which naturally has turned out into the total waste of \ntime. Luckily they both live in the same city and he has asked her out \nto a new coffee shop which she really liked, so there was something \npositive about that date. The question is \u2013 are you ready to risk your \ntime when you travel to another city or country to be introduced to \nsomeone just because she is single?<\/li>
  4. Professional matchmaker doesn\u2019t work for free. Every year we have a \ngentleman or a lady calling our office and claiming we have to introduce\n him or her for free, because it is our \u201cduty\u201d to \u201cspread love\u201d. I am \nsure I don\u2019t have to explain that being a professional matchmaker is a \nfull time job and not just a fancy hobby. If it is just a hobby \u2013 then \nreared the tip number 3. Professional matchmaker pays taxes, rent, \nsalaries to employees and what is more important invests a lot into \neducating himself and growing as a professional and invests a lot into \neducation of his team. Numerous psychological, coaching and matchmaking \ntrainings and master classes \u2013 all these are necessary to be able to \nprovide the best service to matchmaking clients. One of my female \nclients has decided to change her profession and to become a \nhairdresser. At first she was training at a hairdressing school on wigs,\n but later on she needed to find \u201cvictims\u201d to try to colour their hair. \nShe was doing that for free of course, because she was never sure which \ncolour she would get at the end. Luckily after several months of \ntraining she has realized that it was not \u201cher thing\u201d and she has \nreturned to her first career \u2013 fitness trainer. Now imagine that you \nhave trusted your search for a soul-mate to someone new who is just \nlearning how to do it. Probably this service will be cheap, but what \nabout its quality?<\/li>
  5. Professional matchmaker has his or her system that works. If the \nmatchmaker lets you as a client adjust or change his matchmaking process\n \u2013 this is not a good sign. Probably he or she is new and doesn\u2019t know \nwhat he is doing.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    So what to expect when you hire a \nprofessional matchmaker? First of all you will get a chance to see your \ndating strategy from the other angle. Professional matchmaker can show \nyou weak points in your strategy and can show you the ways to change \nthem. Professional matchmaker can introduce you to singles, whom \notherwise you could have never met. Professional matchmaker can save \nyour time by vetting out inappropriate candidates and choose the best. \nHowever, professional matchmaker is not a magician and he or she can\u2019t \nmake other people fall in love with you. Professional matchmaker can\u2019t \nmake you taller or slimmer, smarter or younger. He or she can show you \nwhat steps you will have to take to achieve your dating goals, but you \nwill be the one to take those steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
